Changes in this rig:
1.Change that IDE DVD writer
2.Change that Coolermaster PSU,Get Corsair VX550.Far better choice.
(Or any Antec)
3.Ditch Windows Vista and use Windows 7 RC for now.
Then get Windows 7 in March.
4.With the money saved by ditching vista get another 2 GB ram and Get 640GB HD Instead of 320.

OR BUILD A NEW RIG WITH i5 PROCESSOR!

k thanks...will take into consideration with your inputs :)

^ Dont get that mobo...instead try to get a P43 or P45 chipset mobo...It would offer better features than that G45...And anyways you wont need the onboard graphics as you will be buying a discrete graphics card...
As for the PSU, I would suggest you change it to what shubham suggested... - If the Corsair is costly, then get Antec EA 500...even that is a very good PSU...

thanks gkay09

err, what mobos have the P45 chipset? You mean like this one?

oh if you can recommend a p43 or p45 mobo that costs equal or less to a dg45id pls state the brand.

thanks.

P43 mobos -
ASUS P5QL
ASUS P5QL PRO
GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L

P45 mobos -
ASUS P5Q SE
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L
GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-UD3LR

Everything is fine at its place But I strongly feel you should make a i5 RIG.
i5 blows C2Q out of water.
Its comparable to i7.
And the LGA1156 mobo that will be used can be utilised for future builds also.

Tell me your budget and I will list one.

Reply to shubham1401

shubham1401 my budget is around $1100

Reply to ehcastro3

oh By the way guys I wam from the Philippines, and I will most likely order the components here:

http://www.pcbodega.com/

the price there is listed in Philippines peso, and I don't have any choice but order there, since there's no online company that ships here...

btw $1 = about 49 Philippine peso over here

my budget is around P54,000

Reply to ehcastro3

^ Is the monitor and OS included in the budget ?

Reply to gkay09

Can't find any i5 on http://www.pcbodega.com/
Seems like you have to go with that rig only.

Reply to shubham1401

@gkay09: no monitor, yes OS included

@shubham1401: exactly...that's why i opted for a q9550 instead

Reply to ehcastro3

Then here are the list of parts -

Q9550
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L
2x Corsair XMS2 Single 2 GB DDR2-800 CORCM2X2048-6400C5
Western Digital 640 GB 32MB WD6401AALS

CASE + PSU -
Antec Sonata III with EarthWatt 500w
or
Antec 300 + Silverstone ST50F Strider 500 Watts

Graphics card - Would depend on the resolution of your monitor.
If less than 1920X1200, then go with GTX 260 Core 216 or HD 4870 else if it is 1920X1200/ 1920X1080, then get the HD 4890/ GTX 275...

DVD - Make sure you get a SATA drive.
