Hi, I just received the LG W3000H 30" LCD monitor. I have already returned it after turning it on in my room with it dark and testing the black on the screen. I set screensaver to blank and hit preview to make the entire screen black. I noticed some light bleeding into all 4 corners. I'm hoping the next unit they send me will be better although it is the same model/brand.
It looks worse in that picture because it's a slow exposure on my camera, but it gives you an idea. During normal use it's not that noticeable unless you really look. It bothered me nonetheless.
Anyone have any advice for me? If all the LG W3000H's do this? If some do it worse than others? Are other brands much better? It was between this monitor, the Dell 3008WFP 30", or the Samsung 305T. I decided to go with this one because of cnet's review on it.. "You may be less enthused with this display, however, after experiencing its lackluster color performance and low black levels when watching movies." They mentioned the color's being poor. I decided against the Samsung 305T because of the specs on the LG are better: 5ms vs 6ms response time and 3000:1 contrast ratio vs 1000:1 contrast ratio, and also it's an IPS panel vs PVA which i'm under the impression is a "better" panel?
Thanks in advance.
