Hi, I've just finished building my new computer (almost atleast), all that's lacking is the RAM, but since it's an easy task to apply the RAM i tried booting it, however there are no start beeps nor is there a signal on the monitor. Is this because of the lacking ram or does the problem lie elsewhere?
So i thoroughly read the manual and found out that my Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard was in S1 sleep state, according to the blinking lights. Anyone know how i can fix this? And does it have anything to do with the missing RAM?
One... The speaker Outlander_04 is talking about is the one that comes with the case and plugs into the MOBO by the power switch plugs. It will give you beep codes for errors.
Second... Your motherboard/system will not work or boot without your RAM installed.
In your manual, look at the section called "Internal Connections". You will see a header labeled "F_PANEL". It's located in the lower left corner of your motherboard picture. The case speaker goes on the four pins outlined in red.
Next, without memory, if everything is working properly, the POST will run - and fail, giving you a series of long single beeps.
