I am looking to buy a product from the Corsair Cooling Hydro Series .

But my case only fits a 92mm fan at the back maximum.

They only sell 120mm fans and higher from what I have found.

Does anyone know if thye do 90mm fans ?

What is your case?

it's an eight year old case , but I like it and it has sentimental value

it is a compaq presario, sr1230, computer model

My case has no name, lol,

Can you fit a 120mm Fan over the 92mm Fan Socket? Like does your case have any width to supplement it? Also, your processor might not be worth cooling.

I upgraded my processor, it's an AMD dual core x 250, upgradealbe to quad core

not the pentium 4 pictured, lol

Its not worth it. However if you do want to do it, just make sure a regular 120mm can fit in your case. If not than you have no luck with the Corsair. My advice is to drop the Corsair and invest in a better system.

Well hang on there...it's his system and his money. If that's what he wants to do, we can at least help him. I agree that a hardware upgrade might be a fiscally better choice, but this is only determined by him...not us.

I'm not sure how you could mount the fan without modding the case, but you could use a shroud or old fan, drill mount holes for the 120mm mounts in the case and then drill out side vents to allow the additional airflow that would otherwise be present where the normal mount would go. Make sense?

Just giving him the way I'd do it. But yes, you could do it rubix's way. ;)

Yeah, I know, but you have to consider that not everyone has the same agendas...nor the same priorities. It's tough to help someone with differing opinions, but sometimes this leads both parties in new directions they hadn't previously considered. I think it's going to take a fairly decent amount of DIY for this to work, but depending on the OP's comfort level with this coupled with the personal value of this upgrade vs. another, we'll just have to see how this plays out. We're here to help, regardless the choice...but the OP is the one to make the decision and do all the work.

I agree and I will help the OP any way I can, but delivering multiple choices and other perhaps better solutions is the goal for us, am I right?

I think we should wait for the OP to post before we do anything at the moment.

Right, you are correct with offering multiple ideas...that is the best plan for now. Until we hear back from the OP, it's just sit and wait....and see.

even with a 90mm to 120mm fan it may still not fit

it's okay, nevermind
