Hey guys. I have a P5KE ASUS board. I have 4 gigs ram E8400 dual core intel cpu and BFG 9800 GTX. I am wondering if it would be worth while upgrading the cpu and vid card. And what recommendations. When I built the rig. I forgot that you can't SLI nvidia on my board. So, I might want to crossfire with ATI. Thanks gang

I haven't overclocked a CPU since my PIII days. Can I overclock with stock fan. And how.

Here is a great place to start for overclocking the E-8400 http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-240001_11_0.ht...

If you were going to spend $$ on upgrades anyway just get a good aftermarket CPU cooler and overclock that sucker. We have a similar setup and I am still pretty happy with mine.

Look at the ATI 5xxx series as far as a GPU upgrade goes. Or even wait and see what Nvidia comes out with in the next few months.

Forget SLI /Crossfire - you would be better off with a single FAST video card - as the extra performance of a multi GPU set up is not allways worth the hassle and expense

I have never had a hassle with multiple GPU setups. Usually people don't get the extra performance because of chipset limitations, the CPU is limiting the GPUs, or not a large enough PSU. I do agree that the OP should use a single fast GPU in his current situation.

e8400 is CRAZY chip CRAZY overclocker like my e5200. You 9800gtx can maxx out any game today so LAY BACK and chill, just overclock to about 3.2-3.6ghz with ur stock cooler and that is it.
