Smoke

so i tried to build my first system today but accidently used the 6 pin connector in the top of the mobo instead of the 8 pin and it started to smoke when i powered the computer on for the first time. i turned it off right away but the 6 pin connector is still stuck in the socket is there any way to get it out?

Is it melted into the socket? If it is, then there's not much you can do without breaking something.

yep, c_schwab is right.

You can try to remove the motherboard from your case and, using very controlled strength, try to pull it out.
Sorry dude, but I think you're going to have to buy a new board
