I can't get this card to play Bluray disks at low CPU utilization. Some disks are unplayable others run 80-90 %. I have tried everything I can think of i.e. PowerDVD Ultra 9, newest drivers, Purevideo (HD) etc. nothing helps. When playing standard DVDs I can click hardware acceleration and drop CPU from 50-60 % down to 15-20%. I believe it is just this 8800 GTS card does not handle the newer Bluray encryptions well ex. VC-1, etc. I also have two other computers with less CPU power and ATI cards that play Bluray flawlessly. I guess it is time for a newer Nvidia card.

The rest of the hardware is Athlon X2 4200+, 4 gb RAM, LG ggw Bluray and 2 GTS 8800 320mb SLI connected. For HD it is recommended to use only 1 card i.e. non-SLI mode.

Software is Vista Home Premium, PowerDVD Ultra 9. The CPU is always pushing 100%.

I have Purevideo Gold installed the HD part of Nvidia's equation is the card and a Bluray software in this case PowerDVD ultra 9. I have also tried ArcSoft's Total Mediatheatre 3 Platinum with the same results.

I believe the software even though I have the acceleration enabled is NOT off loading to the video card.

My other systems play Bluray/HD DVD flawlessly are Pentium 3.2 Ghz (478 pin ) with an AGP ATI 3850.
Another system which has the XBOX 360 HD DVD player connected plays HD-DVDs perfectly on a Athlon 64 3400+ single core with only an ATI 3650. In both cases the CPU utilization is about 20-30%.
