hi friends, iam pretty new to this forum, my computer specification is

processor : Pentium D 2.66ghz
motherboard : intel 945g original
ram : 2gb ddr2 667 mhz
psu : 450watts

my monitor is very old it is hcl 15inch monitor supports up to 1024x768 resolution, i hav pci ex 16 slot, i need a graphics card to play mainly (supreme commander, company of heroes, red alert 3, aoe 3 and sims 3) these games smoothly at above resolution, my budget is around 6000 ind rs, i hav 2 options one is geforce 9500gt 1gb ddr3 and another is geforce 9600gt 512mb ddr3, i know 9500gt is rebadge of 8600gt , 9600gt is 3x performs more than 9500gt, i hav little doubt 9600gt support my old 15inch monitor or not? i cant spend much to upgrade my monitor now, so pls give some ideas to choose which nvidia card is suitable for my monitor. in my area no ati dealers are there, so i prefer only nvidia.

9600GT (and most graphics cards) will support nearly any monitor. New or old. So your monitor will more than likely be supported.

Between the 9500GT and the 9600GT I would definitely go for the 9600GT. Even if the 9500GT is enough for the low resolution you will still have room to upgrade that monitor if you get the 9600GT.

Take notice: Some of those games (mainly supreme commander) take a lot of CPU power, especially at low resolutions. I would look into doing a complete system rebuild (at least mobo/cpu) when possible. Unless of course you are happy/content with the results you get. :)
