Nightlife compatability?

Am I right in assuming that genetics, stylings, objects and recolors
for University will still work for Nightlife? But I imagine global
hacks may not... since so much has changed :-( I have 38 global
hacks... and I don't know if I can live without them. Will I simply
have to wait for them to be updated? *gasp*

Genetics, clothes and hopefully recolors should work. Objects is iffy.

Globals will be trial and error. If it's something that was updated with
Nightlife, then they will have to be updated. But some will probably still
work.

I'm probably going to remove all my global hacks (gasp) and see how the
game runs 'clean'. I was considering removing all downloads AND doing
a full reinstall - starting all the neighbourhoods again, but I'm
getting rather attached to my Pleasantview 2nd generation and CAS
families, I don't think I can go through Alexander Goth's teen years a
third time!

Oh yes I've got Alex married to Meadow in this game, they've so far had
two children, Julius and Rain Goth (I thought about Rainbow - just to
fit with an idea I had of Alex naming the boy, and Meadow the girl, but
I pictured Alex whining about the hippiness of the name Rainbow and
shortened it to Rain).

Both look like they've inherited the Goth genes, not even Meadow's tan
has come through in their genetics... oh well, one more child for them
so Alex can get his LTW of three kids graduating filled, and the
possibility of 6 grandchildren for Meadow.

Alexander is currently in the Show Business career and just got the
plastic surgery doo-dah - unfortunately it malfunctioned, leaving him
even more hideous than he started out. So I rebuilt his face from
scratch and he now looks quite a bit better. Meadow's a medium and
accidentally-on-purpose resurrected Mortimer, until I got sick of him
again (well, until he got scared by my Bella-ghost I have floating
around the lot) and killed him off with boolprop. Still has the
platinum tombstone though, hurrah! Mortimer and Bella Goth have
finally been reunited.

Tosha Go went with them to college but dropped out after the first year
so she could marry Amin Sims. Their first child, Amy Go has red hair,
I'm not sure where that came from, given that Tosha's a blonde and
Amin's a ... bruno (what is a male brunette, anyway?). Tosha's
pregnant with their second so I guess we'll see how that goes. She
drops by Alex and Meadow's recreated Sims1 Goth manor quite often which
I find rather cute (they're all best friends, I now have plans to set
up Amy Go with Julius Goth - I wonder if the attraction thing in
Nightlife will let me?).

Yeah, that's what I fear... and testing even a single global is a
timeconsuming business. I had one global that didnt fubar my game
until days later I sent someone to uni.

It's impossible to say what hacks will work and what needs changing.
Maxis haven't issued any warnings this time.

BTW what hacks do you have? I can't even think of 38 hacks!

When it's time to go to university, send some of the neighborhood NPC
teens and townies along. Make sure he gets in the same dorm with Meadow
Thayer. They fell in love immediately all by themselves in my game.
Once he scored a woohoo with her, he's never whined again. They came
home, got married, mourned Mortimer, kicked Dina and her child Piper out
the door and have been happy as clams ever since. Meadow is a hypnotist
and Alexander is a cat burglar. (That whirring sound you hear is
Mortimer spinning in his grave.) They had a hopelessly homely son named
Hamish and after three solid nights of stargazing, Alexander was
abducted and came back preggers with triplets. Tonight, he delivered
two daughters and a son, Andromeda, Tamela and Sahaj, all "fathered" by
a swarthy Vulcan (courtesy of the multiple alien pollination tech hack
at MTS2). The girls have slanted eyebrows with pointed ears, but Sahaj,
alas, looks a lot like his brother Ham.

Blimey! You must have everything single one going! I've only got 10
or so!

Of the lot the daily gardener is the only that will get me if its out
of action for long. My lots have a lot of flowers and a daily visit
from the gardener is an absolute must. Others make the game better but
aren't essential.

What!! There are 147 mods!!!!

I hope we are not getting into a Monty Python thing here.....

Guardian Pegasus: I've got 38 mods.
Maxon: I've got 59.
Madame Mim: Well I've got 147.
Guardian Pegasus: When I say 38 I mean they are 38 to me. I've really

Oh yes, one of my sims had a baby with Amin Sims and she's red-headed (her
mother's a CAS sim with blond hair) - he must have red hair as his recessive
gene.

Actually that would make sense if most Maxis sims only have one set of

ROTFLMAO

I have 147 mod files, some of them are composite mod files, but even then it
would only drop by 10 files at the most.

Sounds like most of them come from twojeffs at www.variousimmers.net or
jmpescado at www.moreawesomethanyou.com

Most of the mere 20 hacks I have are in MM's list and all mine came
from twojeffs and pescado.

I'm surprised the game works with all those mods!! ^_^

I would like a mod to make the Sims less modest. Mainly to use toilets
and showers in the presence of other sims they don't love. Makes life
much easier on dorms with limited facilities.

Casual woohoo mods sounds good too but I'm reckon it might lessen the
gameplay. Ie getting sims together. That's why I haven't installed
nearly that many mods. A lot of mods alter the core gameplay too much
for my liking. I tend to go for mods that add to the game. Like teen
woohoo, skilling on community lots etc

If you tell me which ones I could even give you a link. Generally - I
started off at Mod The Sims 2, and some of those are from there. Then I also
started looking at Variousimmers (following Pescado). Now he has moved again
I also look at his new site -More Awesome than you. My teen woohoo is from
Sims 2 Living, and I also used to go to Simlogical, but her stuff is now
available at Variousimmers. So all in all it's probably better you ask for a
link.
