Wrong SSD for my MOBO...trying to find a replacement

I'm in the market for an SSD, and my search keeps leading me to this one from crucial http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148348 .

My MOBO, on the other hand, can only support 3GB/sec speeds, which leads me to believe that I would be wasting my money on this one as I can't utilize the 6GB/sec speeds. MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131399

Is there a comparable ssd that is more fitting for my MOBO? I'm not the most confident when reading the specs on these so I'm wanting to make sure I make the right choice.

Thanks for your time : )

  1. The max throughput on that drive is 355MB/s. 355 * 8 = 2840Mbps or 2.8Gbps which is less than the SATA II spec of 3Gbps. I don't think it will make all that much difference.
  2. Even accounting for the overhead the difference is fairly minimal.
  3. I see, thanks for the input guys : )
