Building New System

Hi, i've come to the decision to replace my terrible computer.

I have a budget of around £300.

I want the best i can get for that money.

I will be using it for gaming purposes such as AION and World of Warcraft.

I know my budget isn't to high but that's all i can afford currently.

I'm asking you to build me a computer for around that money!

I'm a UK resident if that affects anything.

As a start i've found
Not sure if that's any good?

Thanks all,i welcome your input.

  1. I don't require a mouse, monitor or keyboard.
    I currently am running 1280x960.
I don't mind websites as long as they can ship to the UK, so preferably UK based websites since shipment will be cheaper.
  2. Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Cache -

    LG GH22NS50 22x SATA DVD±RW Dual Layer & RAM

    Kingston 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400

SunBeam Freezing Storm Black Case - No PSU

    AMD Athlon X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 2MB Cache

PowerColor HD 4670 PCS 1GB DDR3 DVI VGA HDMI

    ASUS M4A78 770 Socket AM2+ 8 channel audio ATX

    Enermax Pro82+ 425W PSU - 82+% Efficiency Certified, 2x PCI-E, ATX12V v2.3 all for £308
  3. Do you need an OS? That alone costs almost £90 so it'll be very hard to get a decent gaming rig if you dont have one already.
  4. i don't need an OS as stated above.
  5. Build's question was valid. You never mentioned that you didn't need an OS.
  6. ah sorry yeh just realised!

Would that build be better than
  7. Yes, the build above is better than that Cyberpower sytem. Notice the description on the PSU "STANDARD CASE POWER SUPPLY ***No OverClocking Possible***". That's NEVER a good sign. You would be much better off building your own so you can ensure all the parts are high-quality components. You never want to scrimp on the PSU.
  8. bigger hdd bit better graphics card better power supply i would have to say better case
  9. ok thanks obsidian for your help.

I will wait for other peoples replies before i make my order.

Also i was looking to probably upgrade to 4GB RAM Instead of the 2 GB you have suggested.
  10. if you can sqeeze another 20 quid you could get this instead of the 4670 or
  11. yeh should be able to, which is better out of those? in your opinion
  12. the 4850 would be a lil bit better
  13. ok thanks
  14. its not too bad but i dont trust any nvidia chipsets too many have died on me ,the graphics card might be restricted by a normal pci x16 slot, the newer amd cpu's are faster then previous generations at the same clock speed but not by much. i believe the case and power supply is the exact one used in the cyberpower system
  15. ok thanks my main priority is your suggestion anyway
