I'm planning to build a system end of this year over to the next and I currently planned to buy a P55A-UD3R for my i7 860 but I wonder if I should postpone my build till next year when the i7 930's come out. Now I wonder when and whether there will be other X58A mobos besides UD7 and UD5...will there be a UD3R soon???

"for budget"
The point was the 930 will be similar silicon as the 920. We don't know what cpu's will come out on the 32nm platform 1336. We know a 6 core is. But if your flip flopping from one platform to another always wondering or wanting to get the "best deal" you will never buy! There is always going to be another revision, another feature. A new 930 will probably not be cheaper than the current 920. The new cheaper processors are going to be on the 1156 platform. I3 dual core and less cache I5's. USB 3.0 sounds good, but then factor in upgrading to a 3.0 usb device that makes use of that new speed. That won't be cheap either. It does not make 2.0 devices faster.

that being said...the i7 930 will it out perform the i7 860 and i7 920?
also I might add whether there will be a next generation of X58A line of gigabyte mobos for 1366...

the i7 930 will out-perform a i7-920 by a tiny bit because it's 200MHz faster. Hardly worth the extra money Intel will want for it.

and there's already some X58A gigabyte boards out - Google is your friend.
