unable to transfer files to pen drive on windows xp

i am unable to copy file from pc to pendrive. the message i am getting on my pc when i am trying to copy a particular file from pc to pendrive is " Access is denied make sure the disk is not write protected and that the file is not currently in use "

pl provide the solution to the problem as stated above.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

The message might be right - your pen drive might be Write Protected. Some have a tiny switch on them to make sure you can't overwrite files by accident.
