Unplug the system, open up the case, remove the bios battery, wait 30 seconds, put the bios battery back in, close up the case, plug the system in, voila! CMOS cleared and all bios settings will revert back to default.

I don't completely follow your question. The title references sound but the post talks about the monitor.

You could try using the power button on the monitor. Though I'm not familiar with any BIOS setting to turns off the monitor to begin with.
