How to fix my hard drive when it does not detect hdd

Hello,please me fix my hard drive.i installed avast6 and after most of my windows files were deleted so i took my drive to a fiend who also used a compaq machine for windows installation.i inserted the into my machine after and was asked start windows nomally repeatedly.after several attempts, the message 'no disk drive or disk error'. please help me because am broke now and can't a new one.

If you want to re-install Windows, you need to install it using your computer, not another one, unless it's the exact same model. Re-do Windows setup, but use your own computer not move the drive to another one.
