Seeking advice

I want to build a powerful gaming rig that will last me a while. Not only do I plan to game on it but I also plan to use it for design work using programs like CAD, Maya, and the CS4 collection.

I've heard that the WD Caviar Black's are close to the Velociraptors in speed, so you can save some money and gain HDD space by switching to one of those.

Looks good. The only thing I would change is the hard drive. The performance gaps between the velociraptor and the caviar black hard drives are very minimal. You can get similar performance which much greater storage.

One major issue... You have an x58 (Socket 1366) motherboard listed. You NEED a P55 board (Socket 1156) motherboard.

Second... Pick up the Samsung Spinpoint F3 hard drive. It is faster then the WD Blacks

Third... Don't waste your the GTX 295!! Wait a week and get the ATI 5870 for better performance for half the price.

Tecmo has all good advice. Switch to a good p55 mobo such as these:
