Hello people, I have a Phenom ii x4 965 BE and a cooler master n520 which apparently does not work that good at all, probably cuz I reside at a place close to equator. I am planning to switch to Corsair H80 Hydro series so that I can get a decent overclock without charring my cpu. I just want to make sure how good is the H80, would it be good enough for my 965 be?? Thanks

Its as good as the best air coolers but not as good as proper water cooling. Its as good as you can get except the H100 or proper water cooling though you good get as good with a cheaper aircooling solution. It should be fine for a 965BE.

i think a hyper 212+ with some good push pull configuration will easily go to 4.2ghz
but remove the stock fan and replace it with other two coolermaster sickflow and you will be fine

the cooler master n520 that I have already has two 1800 rpm fans, would changing them with sickleflow 2000 rpm make any considerable difference?

Are you sure it is properly connected and that there is enough thermal paste.

Adding fans with more airflow will help with your situation. Better airflow = better cooling.

Hyper 212+ is not effective for 4 GHz, i do have the Hyper 212+ with the 1055T and i hit 70-75 with full load while i get 30C at IDLE mode.
you're best option would be the V6GT as long as your Case fit, it's marvelous for overclocking you'll get around 60 @ max while at full load

the chassis is a mid tower cooler master elite, now what I wanna know is what would be more fruitful...changing the fans of my n520 to 2000 rpm fans or buying a corsair H80?

Its an Elite 310. One more thing I'd like to say again is that I live in a hot n dry place, the temp outside normally remains 30~35c.

PC case cooling depends on so many factors one of them is the Room temp, generally the ambient temp... you can google it
some guys out there installed H50, H60 in Cooler Master Elite 310... so i guess there would be no problem installing the H80

Alright, I might just buy a new case along with the H80. Just one more thing though, how good the H80 would be for a 965 be in comparison to v6gt if I aim to achieve a decent overclock, I tried to google but found nothing in relation to the H80 and 965 be. Any ideas? Thanks :)

I have the smaller Corsair H50 on my i5 750, its OC'd to 4GHz and in Prime95 it gets up to 87c. At idle and normal use it runs between 27c and 36c. The H80 will probably cool anything. Hope this helps you out.

go to the site and use your eyes to see 2500k(hell better than x6 and more powerful) @ 4.0 ghz stable and running prime for 24 hour without any problem
