I've just received a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to be installed with a i5-2500k and AsRock z68 Extreme3 Gen3.

But I have a small problem, on the backplate there is insulation on 3 of the 4 mobo contact points only and I'm not sure what to do.

I'm worried that if I install it as is it might short the motherboard, any ideas? Is this normal, should I be concerned?

I'd rather avoid having to ship the whole thing back for such a small thing.

I haven't tried contacting cooler master or where I bought the fan yet as I figure it might take a while to get an answer.

Here's an image to make it clearer

Thank you very much

I wouldn't install it until you have that backplate replaced.
Contact and or CM for replacement.
