My mouse and cursor occasionally stops responding. When this happens I can do nothing except push and hold in the on/off switch until the computer turns off. When I then reboot, the mouse and cursor work. Keeping in mind that I am not a sophisticated computer tech, can you shed some light on this issue for me? My security software is up to date and indicates no issues.

If this recently started happening, Windows restore to before it started.

Does it happen when computer is idle ? You could have task manager running (full screen) and let it set on the resource tab and check CPU usage on the resource, which may give you a hint.
