I currently run an Abit il-90mV motherboard with a Intel Mobile T5500 Core 2 Duo CPU. As far as I am aware this is the only motherboard which will take a mobile CPU. As a result the system is low power and the CPU can be cooled passively using a large copper heatsink.

I intend to upgrade to Windows 7 and whilst I am re-installing the OS it is the ideal opportunity to upgrade hardware. Question is, where is money best spent? Can AMD offer a motherboard/CPU combination which will come close on power consumption. Quiet operation and minimum power consumption is a must. Or may be I should stick to my current rig and place the system drive with an SSD. Any suggestions?
