Check this out. ^^ I was looking for the E8600 and came across this. What are your views on it? (not that I'm going to buy it.)

Interesting. That CPU would be a monster. Close to 5ghz OC I bet on air if its real.

5ghz+ Wolfdale might give a 4ghz Nehalem a run for its money on programs/games that are only dual core optimized. Still not worth it even if that is true though. =P

After a point the GHz becomes less important, especially in games. Also many E8600s can hit 5GHz, where do you think those high binned E8700s went? To lucky E8600 owners.

hmmmm E8xxx = 65w tdp... 65w even at 3.5ghz is pretty impressive

but still buying a dual core these days is stupid

I gotta go with apache, that is just not a smart. But that is the way it is with auctions sometimes, it simply becomes a "gotta have it" bidding war and the item really means nothing.

A collectors item perhaps? I still don't get what ass would bid 500+ bucks on that thing. So what if its rare, or if it's the only one made... All it is is 500 bucks out of your pocket, for somthing you could have got for $100 bucks and overclocked.
