Im planning on building a new system around the LGA 1366 socket and im looking for a motherboard that does NOT have onboard sound as I will be putting in a sound blaster X-Fi Titanium FATAL1TY Pro series card, would have like not no have built in lan but that i could do with out
Good luck with that. All mobo's that I've seen all come with onboard sound. You can always disable it and just use your sound card. The same goes with the LAN.
You could always disable the onboard. I haven't seen any low or high end model now that doesn't have onboard sound, it is almost a must now for all mobo makers.
Not gonna happen.
Quick easy fix, go into the BIOS and disable the onboard sound/LAN.
Now your motherboard will act like those components do not exist!

I'm pretty happy with my Auzentech Forte X-Fi. I did a lot of reviews and also got it on sale. I think PCIe instead of PCI is a good idea but not a deal breaker. The virtual surround sound in stereo headphones is truly awesome.
