Using the onboard optical audio port?

Last response: in Components

Hello. I have the Striker Extreme which has the optical audio out and S/PDIF port in the back panel. I also have a Creative Audigy 2ZS installed in one of the PCI slots which I use for sound on the computer.

I want to be able to connect the optical port from my motherboard to my home theater system. Is there a way to do this without having to physically install the SupremeFX card that comes stocked with the board?

What drivers do I need to just use the digital/optical audio out??
