Autochk not found skipping autocheck

Hello,
hi can anyone help each time i switch on my pc just asw the logo for windows it comes on autochk not found skipping autocheckand thats all it does it seems like the picture has frozen but ive try it on and off and get the same problem ive tryed a rebooting disk but nothing tryed a reinstale disc nothing can anyone help me

Means you had probably an external disk XP set to check on reboot and you removed it before XP ran the autocheck. However, that should allow you to skip it or not freeze the PC outright.
Another possibility is that one your drives is failing or someone messed up the wires inside the box. I would need to know more of what happened to your system prior to this.
