Hi,

Im trying to add some hard drives to a rack system.

Basically the front of the rack has space for SCSI drives but I want to add SATA drives due to the price.

I have installed an SATA in one of the PCI slots at the back of the machine and ran SATA cables through to the front.

However I dont have a power source. The power supply is a machine specific one. Which plugs straight into the motherboard.

Near the drives there is some kind of mini floppy disc power supply that I dont recognise.

Also a SCSI power connector I dont recognise which gives power to the SCSI array.
It looks a bit like a 12 pin power connector but im not sure.

Also there are several unused 80 pin SCSI connectors. Obviously these include a power supply. I was wondering it there was someway to draw power from these ?

Possibly using something like this ?

However what presumably the SCSI controller will think there is a Hard drive plugged if I plug one of these in ? Is there someway I can stop this ?

Would I need to add one of these ?
