What's the budget? What's the uses? If it's for gaming, what games do you play and what resolution is your monitor?

Your missing a case and DVD drive, do you have those?

Also, you'll need a 64 bit OS if you want to use more than 3.5GB of RAM

I have a case. i dont know what make. its a mid tower with side cooling. and i have a sata dvd burner. im doing gaming/ somewhat more for school. (cod,tf2 and maybe crysis) monitor is a acer 17" 1024*768 h=45khz v=60hz

Dont get an Ultra PSU, they arent that good, try to get one from antec, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, or OCZ. The corsair 450VX should be plenty

Where are you buying from ? I would really suggest upgrading from that resolution, a 4670 can handle it rather well. A 4670 will save you quite a bit and will give you playable frame rates at that resolution on crysis on high. Also dont buy a copy of XP, get a copy of vista with the upgrade coupon, its definitely worth it.

If you do decide to get a monitor with it then my graphics suggestion would change to reflect the resolution on that monitor.

The GTS 250 is fine at that resolution. Although, a 4870 would be significantly better and is only $20 more.

A 500 - 550W PSU from a reliable brand will suffice depending on which graphics card you go for. Antec, Corsair, OCZ or Thermaltake are some good brands.

Vista is only $100, and Windows 7 is worth getting. So it's either you buy Vista with an upgrade coupon for Windows 7 now or you can buy Windows 7 when it comes out next month.

build what in the hell are you talking about? A gts250 is fine for 1024x768? It is massive over kill, a GTS 250 will run games on high at 1280x1024, and a 4870 will do high at 1680x1050, he will be limited by the refresh rate of the monitor at 60 FPS, so the 200FPS his CPU and GPU will give him arent useful at all.

I really REALLY suggest you get a good PSU from a good manufacture, dont get an inexpensive one from a fair manufacturer. Wanna see a raidmax go boom? Dont buy a budget psu just to save money, it will cost you way more.

If you really do plan to get a new monitor, which I assume will be bigger, then you will need something better than that GTS 250.

Besides, a Core I5 gaming rig without a nice graphics card to match it just doesn't seem right at all

the GTS 250 is good for high settings on resolutions of about 1280x1024 or 1440x900, it wont do very well on high resolutions like 1920x1200 where there are far more pixels for it to deal with. Some cooler masters are good some arent, make sure what ever power supply you picked is 80+ certified as that means it has passed a 100% load test.
