Can you remove a COM Reference

Is it safe to remove COM References in the Registry Editor that cannot be removed by the Program System Mechanic, but come up as erroneous values

Is it safe to remove COM References in the Registry Editor that cannot be removed by the Program System Mechanic, but come up as erroneous values

Leave the registry alone. And don't use registry 3rd party tools !

Why? The System Mechanic program (recommended by level 2 technicians) safely removes them. What are 3rd party tools?
