I'll be buying the hardware in a couple of days now.
And this is what i have chosen unless someone suggests anything better:
(I need to stay under 1000$)

I5, mobo, 4gig ram, and 1.5tb seagate hd

Cpu, HD, Ram, Mobo

XFX 4890

Im currently stuck as to which case i can buy around 100$ - i don't like flashy cases - with many leds - and it needs to have good airflow.
Right now the best one I can find is the Storm Scout although I really don't like the top carrying handle,
Anyone know of other good sturdy cases, with good airflow.

So can someone tell me if this is a decent build - its mostly for gaming and 3d modelling/video editing.
I know the i7 is better but with its price plus the pricier mobo and ram, this is a better solution for me.

Thanks in advance

Cooler Master RC-690... It is a great case for the price. Also, similar to the Scout is the Antec 900.

You are missing a good after market HSF for your build. I would recommend you picking one up to start.

The rest of your build looks pretty good... (seen that combo listed a few times tonight).

ok. thanks alot
im like the rc 690 - it looks perfect for me. what im wondering how big is it on the inside - will i have problems fitting anything?

and second would u recommend a heat sink?

Why_me:

i looked at that thread and clicked the i7 860 link, and couldn't find the combo, it only has the mobo...
and do you think that the i7 860 is worth the extra money?

The CM 690 is a good case if you plan on running dual vid cards...it's a very large case. If you going to go a single card set up, then another mobo, psu and case will cut down that price. Also there is a cheaper Cooler Master h/s that all Cooler Master cases combo with on newegg. Click on any Cooler Master case, then click "combo's" below it and you will see the choices of two h/s. Both of those h/s come with thermal compound/paste.

As for the i7 860...that's an expensive cpu, and not a real need for it unless you use proggy's that take advantage of hyper threading. Also ewiz...the combo link for the 860 ran out of 750 and 860 cpu's. :(

They have been selling like hot cakes since they came out.

CM HAF 922 or Storm Sniper which is on sale for $119.99 @ NE right now. Both have LEDs but they can be turned off.

Here is a good combo with the CM RC-690 and CM HSF... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.259675

As Why_Me said, you will have plenty of room in this case and is one of the best cases for the price... IMO
