What will unlocking an L3 cache on a AMD x4 640 do ?

How do I do it ?

What does it do ? Improve performance ? How much ? Noticeable ?

will it work with any memory and motherboard ?


Also, how do I overclock, what's the simplest and easiest tool used to overclock, just to about 3.2ghz ??
My aftermarket cooler is a corsair h40.

I dont think you can unlock the L3 cache. download AOD http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/amd-overdrive/pages/overview.aspx easiest way to overclock and go to auto clock once there. After that run prime95 for stability test

It is rare that you would get lucky and have a Phenom II binned as an Athlon II but it is possible

That board is pretty low end for sure....

If you did get lucky and unlock L3 cache on your chip it would become a Phenom II..L3 cache is instruction set...google it if you don't know what L3's significance is as I do not have the patience to type....
