Case:
Smilodon Mid-Tower

I want to know if the GTX 260 can fit in my case.
I know the GTS 250 can and the GTX 260 is only 1.5 inches longer.

I'm not familiar with that case so I can't say. I can say that 1.5 inches is a pretty large difference though :P

1 inch = 2.54 centimeters: 1.5inch is 3.81cm. If your case is too short, get HAF922/CM-690 which is a pretty good case with very cheap price. However, it's freezing to have a HAF922 within 1m aside, so I would recommend the cm-690 over this case.

I don't want to change my case. I'm thinking of cutting out a piece of paper to the dimensions and seeing if it fits.

OvrClkr, are you sure about this? I don't want to buy the GPU then end up not having it fit in the case.
Have you had the smilodon case?

No but I have a buddy that has a Smilodon and a GTX 275 so it should fit....
