Hey everyone. I'm thinking about buying an old alienware system for the case and powersupply. I'm kinda curious about what kind of hardware it has in it though, and the owner doesn't know. (not very tech-savy) So I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the model of it or maybe give me some better insite. The only info I have is the service tag # and this picture below.

or direct link.

Does anyone have a clue what this is?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

Well, I had one like that, not that color though. I got it in 2002, it was a year old then, I think. If I remember right, mine had a Pentium 4 @ 1.7... It was a Geforce card, but I couldn't tell you what type if you paid me. I know it had a Soundblaster Live! card, but I don't know if that was stock or added. As far as other specs, I don't remember. Hope that helps a little!

It may not be a good idea to buy a used power supply as they go bad over time.

That looks like the full tower i pulled a 303watt PSU out of for my ancient HP, i woudnt use any parts from it, unless he is willing to sell you the case for 30, you can get other ones with far better airflow.

i think it was a gateway 2000 i pulled it from, but im not sure.
