Best Memory for my Build?

i was thinking the CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX6GX3M3A1600C9
anybody have any other suggestions? I don't plan on spending more then 170$ on ram.

Hi

1- The CL of that RAM that you post is CL9, that is a high CL for DDR3, the recomended is CL6, CL7 or CL8.
2- If you want the best for your rig, you can get THIS
3- With your budget you can get THIS
4- With a little more, you can get THIS

Now, you can select the best option for you.

whats wrong with having a CL9? the one you suggested for option 3 was around the price I got mine for.

Hi again, you can read THIS to understand the difference between a high CL and low CL.

In general is: "...The time between sending a column address to the memory and the beginning of the data in response. This is the time it takes to read the first bit of memory from a DRAM with the correct row already open...." See the article here

is it better to have a lower mmhz like 1333 with a lower CL8, or a higher mmhz like 1600 with a higher CL9?
