AMD phenom II x4 970

So I'll be building my first rig this week and I bought the phenom x4 970 BE with the ASUS M5A87 motherboard.
If I want to OC:

1) Do I need an aftermarket heatsink?
2) Is my mobo good for overclocking?

If you want to do any real overclocking you will want a good aftermarket cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 + which is dirt cheap and performs very well and then you should be able to hit 4ghz OC on that 970 and maybe a bit more. As far as the mobo goes it will work fine but do the research first.

Yes you'll need an aftermarket cooler.
I'd buy the new 212+ Evo instead of the old version.
And that mobo will oc just fine.
