Brilliant me, got a virus. And a lot of unwanted bs on my laptop anyway, so want to do a system restore. Put in the discs, recovery process starts, then ejected the cd and says "the recovery process has been cancelled. Remove the disc and press ok to restart and continue the process. Otherwise reinsert the disc and press cancel to start over." Please help. Can't find an internal partition to recover from.
I'm running Windows xp on an old Sony vaio vgn-fe660g.

Nope, disks are good. Just got it working after days of trying. No recovery partition on my brand, but booted up in safe mode with debugging. Selected the recovery wizard from control panel. After running the process for a bit, fame back with error code 160. Cannot continue. Clicked ok, comp restarted, automatically loaded the recovery process as the disk was still in, and suddenly, VAN it worked! Thanks for the advice tho.
