Well I have a 480 watt psu was wondering if I bought a 9800 GTX if it would be ok running on it.

Depends on the quality of the PSU. Name the model, brand, and amps on the 12v line, and you might get a better answer.

What brand and model is you PSU?

yeah as long as its a good brand and has the proper PCI-E power connectors (you can do without them but i recommend u have them)
