Hp dv6000 amd help

Hello,
It seems my dvd-rom is not detected by the computer. I have changed it,updated the driver,checked my registry,still no show. pls I need help because I got a new hard drive and I can`t install an OS

did you replace the dvd-rom? if so it probably need to be a hp dvd-rom. all components in a hp computer come with a sticker on them that tell you the replacement part number. Also make sure the drive is seated correctly.

regardless if the OS is not seeing the drive you should see it in the bios.
