How to install windows xp on compaq presario cq56

Hello,
How do I install Windows XP on a Compaq Presario CQ 56 that has Windows 7 Starter allready installed? Please Help

as long as it has a cd drive you should not have a problem but you would need to check that drivers are avalible

and you have a windows xp cd.

the Compaq Presario CQ 56 has a second part to the modle number some thing like CQ 56-101SA
if you could post the full modle you will get a better answer.

Where can I find that second part of the model number if you could please help me I'm not very good with all of this technical stuff

there shoud be a lable on the underside of the laptop all the info should be on that

There is a label that has the serial number and then on the sam e label it says X16 does that help?

the problem we have is there are 29 diffrent models of the Compaq Presario CQ56 NOT all of them have drivers listed for xp drivers

if you click on the green box marked drivers and software then enter "Compaq Presario CQ56" it will list all of them
then you need to see if you can match a model up to you system and see if the xp drivers are avalible
if they are you will not have a problem installing xp
if it only lists windows 7 drivers would sugest keeping windows 7

W7 starter is a bit grim you might want to consider an upgrade to W7 home premium 64bit.

do you have a specific need for xp or are you just not getting on with W7.
