Q9550 Overclocking on P5N32 E SLI Plus

I can't seem to overclock anything past the default 2.83 GHZ tried raising voltage as high as 1.46 vcore with no stability please help.
I am Aiming for 3.4 - up to 3.8 if possible E0 Stepping. I know asus does not show support for cpu so maybe that is why. If thats the case then I just need validation.
