i have tried sharing the external on my other computer with vista and it shows that it is shared but i can not find it on my computer with xp

Hi when you try to map the shared file from the xp ,make sure you click on sign with a different user name ,then you will have to put your username and password which is on the vista ,and then you try to map the shared folder ...and make sure you can ping the vista pc from the windows xp ,before you start anything --if ping doent work then firewall is blocking the communication between the 2 pc's
