I need help on some of the parts mostly advice on the MoBo and CPU, are the ones I chose decent ones that'll last me a few years? what MoBo is that efficent but not expensive?

Why a second DVD drive? If you are going to get a second one pay the extra $5-10 to get a second burner. This seems like its coming off of Cyber power PC, i really suggest building it yourself you can save quite a bit and get better quality parts. What resolution monitor do you intend to game on? A 4850 is good, but not if you want to play at 1920x1200.

ya i was looking at cyberpowerpc and puget and mwave and hp's site to copy paste stuff since i have them open(they all seem a tad overpriced), I'm hesistant to building it myself so i was going to still buy all the parts and then have my friend build it for me since i broke my last pc trying to upgrade it.
So far I'm thinking newegg has the best deals I see, anyone else have a different favorite site?
I generally know what psu(~650-750w) and what gfx(4850 1g or 4870 1g) card i want, but the cpu and the mobo and the hard drive i still have no idea...

The most gfx intensive game I have is BF2 project reality mod. was hoping to get something that could run resident evil 5, but might be too expensive. i wanted to only spend like 800 bucks or so
i have a 19" princeton its old (4-5 years) so i dont think it'll do 1920x1200, maybe somewhere around 1500x1000 im guessing
so what changes should i make? and where should i start w/ harddrive and cpu?

that looks awesome ty. I have a question about the gpu though, my friend says i need 1g on the gpu for competitive gaming, 512mb isnt enough? how's that?

It depends on your resolution, higher resolutions will benefit more from increased video RAM.

With the resolution your running at that card will do just fine. The next step up would be a 4870 512 which will run just fine with that psu. When you step up from that like the gtx 260 or 4870 1gig you want a solid 550w psu. That card I posted in the build runs neck and neck with the 4850.
