Missing desktop icons display properties

i cant find my display properites icon i know i can click my desk top and get it that way but i want the icon how do i find it?

In the control panel, under classic view, there is a icon that says "display". right click that icon and it will give you the option to create shortcut. click on that and you will have a shortcut to the display properties on your desktop.
