I'm just wondering if my crossfire is working correctly because i ran gpuz v. 0.3.5 and it showed my second card running at pci-e 2.0 x4 not x16!!
running a q6600@3.0, 8gbddr2 800, antec tpq1000 psu, and most importantly a dfi lp dk x38-t2rb
I've attached a screenshot.. First gpuz is selected on the first 4850 and the second is on the other 4850.. Crossfire is detected but not at full pci-e 2.0 x16 speeds!
The BUS Interface on the second card reveals: PCI-E 2.0 x16 @ x4 2.0
Can you tell me if there is something wrong? Maybe there is something i need to turn on in BIOS? Not sure b/c in CCC Crossfire is turned on.. Can you guys help me?
Your mobo support 2 PCI Express x16 slots (PCIE 1 and PCIE 3) - 2-way CrossFire at x16/x16 bandwidth, so you need to turn on something in the BIOS or something is wrong.
Yeah, most mobos will clock down the bus speed in crossfire mode. Most will actually clock them down to 8x - 8x .. or sometimes 16x - 8x. But usually it's the first of the two. Your system is fine.
