I only have two free SATA power connectors so I was thinking of converting two of them to molex with an adaptor then plugging thme both into a Y adaptor that leads to a single 6 pin PCIE for a video card. Will this work? Do I need both SATA connectors or just one?

Hmm that would potentially work but If your PSU only has SATA and no molex plugs it must be a low power output PSU whats the wattage cuz almost all newer video cards say at LEAST 450Watt PSU is needed and a 600w is recommended...So if your trying to rig all those adapters to a 250w PSU it's still no good...

Yea it is a 350w Dell PSU, but I have heard that this PSU is powerful enough for a 5750 which uses comparitively little power.

Do I only need one SATA cable with a splitter like in my first link or would I need to use two SATA cables? In other words will a single SATA cable (split into two molex cables) provide enough power to the video card or would I need to yse two separate SATA cables?

gwlaw99 - I think you heard wrong.

Well, I just talked to tech support and XFX and he said give it a try, but he recommended a new PSU as I would probably need one in the future anyway. So...I bought an Antec 600w PSU.

Thanks for all the input.
