Hello,

From time to time I've been getting a blue screen during shutdown with FDC.SYS showing the culprit. It must be way at the end of the shutdown as xp doesn't go into the checkdisk when starting back up.

This is from a move over of my os from my old computer to the new one. I never got this on the old computer. Any ideas what to look for. Most of the time when it happened I was using some part of Nero 11 but once it wasn't.

Thanks

Hello,

I don't know if your problem still exists, but I had a similar problem with my computer,

with a Asrock ALiveSATA2-GLAN mainboard.

I was looking for the reason for a few years and at the end one day I had the right idea.

The reason was the "dual channel mode" feature for the memory (RAM). I think your board

has the same feature.

I disabled it in the BIOS - Advanced - CPU Configuration - Memory Channel Mode set to

"Single Channel".

Since then I never got this blue screen at shut down again.

kind regards
