Which is better in performance and why? I'm guessing the 1 TB is better because of the 6 Gbps interface and 64 mb cache?

the only time you will see a difference is if the 1TB drive is connected to a SATA III (6Gb) connection.

if the 1TB is connected to SATA II (3Gb) connection, there should not be to much of a difference in speed. The only thing that might play a factor is the 64MB cache depending on file size
