Thermalright Archon vs Silver Arrow

Hi everyone,
I currently am running an i7 860 @ 3.6 ghz (with turbo boost) on a hyper 212 +. With Intel Burn test, temps are in mid-high 60's. I am planning to overclock my cpu to 4ghz, and buy a Thermalright Archon/ Silver Arrow. Which of the two is better, and would this be a worthy investment? Or would there be no performance difference between 3.6 and 4ghz, specifically in cpu demanding games such as Skyrim?
Thanks!

Both coolers are equal cooling wise imo.
Difference is the Archon is designed specifically for users of tall ram kits.
It's narrow width wise which means it's a taller cooler 170mm.
The SA is a better buy if you have low profile ram 40mm and under.
It's only 160mm tall and comes with two TY-140mm fans, the Archon only includes one fan.
I cant answer your performance question though,i simply don't know.
Although i will say you'd be better off with 8gb of ram then 6gb.
Your mobo is currently running in the ram in single channel mode.

^Can't do 8gb of RAM; I believe it has to be triple channel. Could do 12, but 6 is fine.
What's your cooler now? Stock? A Hyper 212 EVO would probably be fine.

I am using a Hyper 212+ CPU cooler. And my 6GB RAM is running in Dual Chanel mode for some reason. I currently have reasonably low RAM heatspreaders ( A-DATA Gaming Series ram) but I might be buying RAM with high heatspreaders in the future though. Are the two coolers the exact same performance?

The EVO is the improved version of the 212+.
It will have slightly better cooling performance and reportedly a quieter fan.
Both the 212+ and Evo are basically the same dimensions.
The price difference is under $10 sometimes as little as $3.
I'd try to oc a little more with the 212+ personally, maybe add another fan for push/pull.
I have all 4 dimms filled with Ripjaws on my 1156 mobo using a 212+(i3 550)
Formally used same set-up on i5 760 no problems.
