I am currently in the process of upgrading my computer parts slowly and i've come to the point were i'm buying a new video card i am currently using and Nvidia Geforce 8800 Gs XXX Alpha Dog edition got it about 2yrs back.

i am using and AMD CPU and a friend told me that ATI cards always work better with AMD CPU's so im planning on buying a new ATI card and i have a choice between 2 different cards and i was wondering if anyone could help me decide which one is better.

card#2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161244

and if you can whats the biggest difference between them?

What resolution are you playing at? What power supply do you have? What motherboard do you have? Those are what determine what GPU you need. The 4850 will perform slightly better and the extra Vram will allow higher FPS at higher resolution, however it will also draw more power and produce more heat.

well with my new monitor ill either be playing at 1280x1024 or 1440x900. I have a 500wat PSU. I have a Lanparty UT RDX200 mobo with a AMD 64x2 3800+ on it.

and i was also looking at the memory clock and core clock and the xfx already comes with a pretty high memory and core clock.

The 4850 performs slightly better then the 4770, but uses more power and usually makes more noise (the HIS ICQ may be pretty quiet) At the prices posted i'd get the XFX 4770 for $110 vs. the 4850 for $130 and the excellent XFX warranty (make sure you register it)

the xfx is a 128bit and the sapphire is a 256-bit well that make a huge difference in my preformance?

Not at the resolutions you'll be playing at (1280X1024 or 1440X900) For awhile the 4850 was selling for under $100 and the 4770 had limited availability and was selling for $120. That has now changed and the 4770 is cheaper (as low as $95) and the 4850 is more expensive (only 1 is selling for $100) The XFX also has an excellent double lifetime warranty.
Here's benchmarks that show performance.

The XFX uses 128 bit memeory interface and GDDR5 which is quad data rate ram, the Sapphire uses 256 bit memory interface and GDDR3 which is only double data rate ram, so the bus width is canceled out by the transfer rate.
