I'm shopping for a notebook and am torn between the Dell 9100, 8600,
and 5150 models. The 9100 and 5150 are the ones with the P4
processors with the main difference being that the 9100 has the wide
screen. The 8600 has the wide screen but also has the M processor.
I'm not very familiar with M processors and don't really know if they
compare speedwise with the newest P4 HT chips. The 9100 looks like it
has a funky case (http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_9100?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs)
and the 5150/8600 look well equipped in the ports dept, etc. Optioned
out the three come in at the $1500-2000 mark and I really don't know
which one to choose. Is widescreen worth it? Is M worth it? If not,
I suppose the lesser 5150 is a perfect choice. Can anyone provide
some insight?
