About to build a new PC and want to turn an old one into a home server.

Current components:

Motherboard- MSI K8N Neo Platinum
CPU- AMD Athlon 64 Processor
Video- NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GTS
4G RAM

All i want this to do is be storage for media and if possible a hub to push a wireless signal (server would be linked by cable to router on another floor).

Old HD is ATA with the large ribbons, I havent built a PC in awhile and not sure how sata works.

Current Specs say the Mobo is capable of 4 SATA Drives however I can only identify 2 slots on mobo. Want to max out w/ 4x 1 TB (I know it sounds excessive but I have so many external drives full of media I want to ensure I have space to last awhile).

Will this hardware work for my purpose and is there a PCI card that will work as a wireless extender from a tower?

SATA connectors: 2 are between the AGP slot and the CPU and 2 are near the lower right edge of the board.
If you have a wired connection and a wireless card you can use the wireless card to push the signal, as an access point in other words. You can share the internet connection with other computers.

You could also get a router and use it as an access point.

Tried to use the router i was using in the states (Linksys Wireless-G) as an access point but it didnt seem yo want to work. I am in Germany atm using a TKS Router as the primary and dont know if there is a conflict there or not. Figured I would see if I could just kill 2 birds with 1 stone by adding it to the server since i intend to make it anyway for the media storage.

Will the mobo being that old be able to support HD's a TB in size? Thats really my only concern.

You might need a bios update.
