Change to AHCI without reinstalling XP

Does anyone know how to do this? I have an ABIT IP35PRO Mobo. I've tried a few methods so far that haven't worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've got the same mobo, and have the same problem, although I'm now using 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate. Forum regular Sminlal has posted about how to do this in a couple of other threads, but those methods (also documented at Microsoft.com) don't seem to be working.Yeah it's a bummer I wouldn't think it would be this difficult.
